Today,
what we have are three groups of thought on this subject. One is
evolution; the second is creation, and a third is trying to mesh the
first two into one. People really get confused trying to sort these
out so that they can find understanding. "For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints."
(1 Corinthians 14:33)
On this particular subject, we have both
man's and God's input on how the world was established. In weighing
the two major views, we must keep two things in mind. Man looks at
what is and tries to determines what was. God knows what was and
says what will be.
I could write lengthily comments to explain
the details of the views, but when done, there would still be
confusion. Therefore, let me get right to the point. If you do not
believe God's Word, no need for you to waste your time by reading
further.
For plants and animals to develop over a
long period of time, they must have a favorable environment. They
must have air, light, heat, and a food source to allow them to grow
and evolve. No objection to the logic of what you just read? Good.
Now, look at what God said when He had the
scriptures written. "And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the third day."
(Genesis 1:11-13) Did you catch the point that all plants were
yielding seeds after their kind, full grown plants? Now, pay
attention. Look what God did on the fourth day. "And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day."
(Genesis 1:14-19)
Friend, how did all those plants get to be full grown without any
light, heat, days, or nights? Did you see that? God did not put the
sun, moon, and stars in place until the forth day. Even if one day
is counted as a thousand years, as some try to do, it then means the
plants were in total darkness and without heat for a thousand years.
Jesus Christ is The Son of God. Jesus tells
how He was with God when He created the earth, all things on it, and
made the universe. "When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:
When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep: When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth: Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him; Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men."
(Proverbs 8:27-31) John confirmed this. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made."
(John 1:1-3) People want to know about God and act good, but deny
His power. Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
(2 Timothy 3:5-7) God made all the things that we can see from
things that are not visible to us. "Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear."
(Hebrews 11:3)
Neighbor, you have a decision to make. Do
you believe what God said or what men try to prove? "For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist."
(Colossians 1:9-17)
